Every beginning is difficult? It doesn't have to be. Here you will find all the information you need for a successful start to your studies at the Institute of Archaeological Studies.

At a Glance

WHERE:  Unless otherwise stated in individual cases, the courses take place at the Institute of Archaeological Studies, Haus der Archäologien, Am Bergbaumuseum 31, 44791 Bochum.

WHEN:  Courses at the Institute of Archaeological Studies usually start on the Thursday of the first week of lectures (RUB deadlines and dates can be found here). Further information can be found on the homepage and in the individual Moodle courses.

eCampus: Please register for your modules in eCampus first. The registration period usually runs until Wednesday of the first week of lectures, 6 pm, after which eCampus will assign you to the courses. Manual late registrations are possible in individual cases, but only with the consent of the respective lecturer.

Moodle: Please register for the Moodle courses after successful allocation by eCampus or contact the respective lecturer. They will be able to tell you more about the organisation, start and schedule of the course. Incidentally, Moodle is purely a learning platform, whereas attendance and performance records are still managed via eCampus! Please note that the Moodle courses are usually only set up by the lecturers shortly before or at the beginning of the lecture period.

General Information: You can also find general information about your studies in the Moodle courses ‘Archaeological Studies: Information about your studies' and ’Archaeological Studies: Information on BA and MA degrees’.
